Statement:
My practice explores material and processes.
I am interested in the concept of reduction and setting limits, narrowing in to then fully explore the world within these self imposed boundaries.
Starting each piece with one material, most recently - green silk screened paper, I explore a specific process to form alternative readings of the material.
I express the explosive nature of ripping the material or reordering scraps on the studio floor into controlled delicate lines.
My work has a connection with labour and the investment of time.
I am drawn to pre-industrial crafts such as lace making, drystone walling, and weaving.
